for Bidel Dehlavi- was held by Persian Language Studies Center of Indian Aligarh Islamic University and technological institute of Mobin cultural ambassadors of Iran and by scientific and intellectual sponsorship from Allameh Tabatabaei University and other scientific institutes of Persian- speaking countries e.g. Ministry of Sciences, Researches and Technology in Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI), Afghanistan Ministry of Higher Education, Ilia State University of Georgia, Afghanistan Herat State University, central organization of Payam-E-Noor University (PNU) of Iran, Sweden Institute of Kulturella Forening P.S.R, Shahid Beheshti University, State University of Shiraz, Hamedan University of Buali Sina, Lorestan State University, University of Qom, and through cooperation with cultural organizations including Saadi Foundation, IRI Academy of Persian Language and Literature, Islamic Culture and Communication Organization, IRI Cultural Attaché to New Delhi (India), Center for Great Islamic Encyclopedia, and research institute for written heritage headed by Professor Mrs. Azarmidokht Safavi as chairwoman of Persian Language Studies Center on Aligarh Islamic University of India on 1-3rd March 2017 (13th Esfand month 1395 in Iranian calendar).
The inauguration ceremonies of this conference were followed by participation of three hundred Iranological researchers and professors from universities of India, Iran, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and Georgia with extensive news reflected in world media and news agencies and supported by a wide range of international scientific and cultural institutes.
The key lecturers attended in this conferences including Dr. Haddad Adel as the chairman of Iranian Academy of Persian Language and Literature, Professor Zamiruddin Shah the chancellor of Indian Aligarh Islamic University and head of Aligarh University of India, Professor Azarmidokht Safavi as chairwoman of Persian Language Studies Center on Aligarh Islamic University of India, Mr. Mohammad Nasiri the secretary of conference and director of institute of Mobin Cultural Ambassadors, Dr. Mirza Jalalev the Ambassador of Tajikistan in India and Dr. Vaez Mahdavi as deputy of development of scientific and cultural affairs of IRI Management and Planning Organization, Dr. Ansari as IRI ambassador in New Delhi, and Dr. Ali Dahgahi the Iranian Cultural Attaché in New Delhi presented lectures in opening ceremonies of this conference after reading of message from Afghanistan Minister of Higher Education by Dr. Hazin as dean of literature department of Herat University.
By proposing of a topic titled ‘Compromise with Bidel’, Mr. Gholamali Haddad Adel as chairman of Academy of Persian Language and Literature implied that Bidel should be assumed on the top point and peak of Indian School of Literature so that his poetical divan included more than 80 thousand verses.
He added despite fame of Bidel and spreading of his poems through other countries this poet had not been addressed until four decades ago.
Dr. Haddad Adel, the chairman of Iranian Saadi Foundation, stated that the sonnets of Bidel were published and noticed in Iran about 30 years ago. He remarked after Islamic Revolution in Iran the Iranian literati compromised with Bidel by the efforts made by Sohrab Sepehri.
The chairman of Iranian Academy of Persian Language and Literature said that due to revolution Persians were not inclined to repeat classic poetical style and for this reason blank verse and modern style were addressed. He declared Bidel is deemed as a favorable exemplar for poets, who like development in language and content, after Islamic Revolution.
Mr. Gholamreza Ansari, IRI ambassador in New Delhi, also mentioned in this conference that today IRI consulates abroad were tasked with making effort for developing of Persian Language in subcontinent, particularly India. He implied paying attention to spreading of Persian language might be the best task for expansion of cultural exchanges and to introduce hardworking and advancements in Iran. Referring to role of India in spreading of Persian Language, IRI ambassador in New Delhi declared that India might play important role in this regard with over 60 academic seats for Persian language.
By implying expansion of Iran- India relations, he asserted a golden opportunity has been provided for spreading of Persian Language in India under current conditions.
Similarly, Dr. Vaez Mahdavi, as deputy for development of scientific and cultural affairs in Iranian Management and Planning Organization also mentioned in this conference that Persian poetry could draw depth of spirituality of orient. By referring to role of literati and poets in linking between countries, he implied Bidel was one of the poets who could express accurate and complex mystic concepts within poems.
Likewise, by referring to role of Persian language in further proximity between nations, Dr. Mirza Jalalev, as Tajikistan ambassador in New Delhi, declared nowadays humanity needs to cultural development and proximity more than ever. He accentuated the potential of Persian language should be used for expansion of cultural relations between Persian-speaking countries and other regional states. Then by referring to unique poems of Bidel, Tajikistan ambassador said that the verses of this meticulous poet possessed a lot of adherents in Middle Asia. He added: in 21st century Bidel might link culturally between countries in Persian Speaking countries and related subcontinent.
Also by implication of effect of oriental culture on west, Dr Ali Dahgahi as IRI Attaché in New Delhi mentioned in this conference that western civilization has been owed to oriental civilization for development in some cases. Expressing that the eastern and western worlds were not primarily too familiar with each other, he asserted that many logbooks at this period have been written about eastern countries and especially Iran and India.
IRI Cultural Attaché in New Delhi assumed distance of western world from this region and governance of historic period of Middle Ages as some of quantitative reasons for small amount of information spread regarding the west. He added after Renaissance the west people communicated with the eastern nations initially by aiming of trade and then for the sake of hegemony and imperialism.
At the end, Dahgahi appreciated the founders of International Conference on Orientalism and Bidel, especially Professor Azarmidokht Safavi as chairwomen of Persian Language Studies Center.
Also in this conference Zamiruddin Shah as chancellor of Aligarh Islamic University considered Bidel as one the greatest poets in Indian School of Literature and implied that verses of this great poet had more adherents in countries of Afghanistan and Middle Asia than in Iran and even in India per se. Then he declared presently Persian language is still taught in many universities in India. Afterward, chancellor of Aligarh Islamic University acknowledged to head of Persian Language Studies Center and House of Culture and Iranian professors who attended in this conference.
Concerning the reason for holding of conference of orientalism with the seminar, Professor Azarmidokht Safavi, the chairwoman of Persian Language Studies Center in Aligarh University, said the personality of Bidel has been intermingled with orientalism.
She declared Bidel was assumed as symbol and agent of orient with a lot of fans in Middle Asia and Afghanistan.
Mr. Mohammad Nasiri, the secretary of conference and head of Mobin Institute also considered the great conference of Iranologists and literati in Aligarh city of India as one of mystic miracles of Bidel and wonders of Persian poetry and called Bidel as a symbol of cultural unity among regional states. In addition to acknowledgement for presence of great experts of Persian literature and political authorities presented from the four countries in this conference, he expressed hoping that the path to be continued for cultural integration between regional states in common cultural fields through constant empathy and accompaniment of scholars.
Dr. Yahya Hazin, dean of Literature Department of Herat University of Afghanistan, also read the message of Afghani Minister of Higher Education.
The process of conference was planned by formal request for paper, judging about essays, determination of level for papers, publishing of a collection of essays, presentation of documents on websites and invitation from the elected paper-owners along with presence of international leading lecturers at the highest level of scientific standard and by cooperation with the valid international scientific committee.
The members of scientific committee and jury of this conference included 86 professors from universities of five countries i.e. India, Armenia, Iran, Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
Over 647 papers were sent to secretariat of the conference and after primary review and refinement, 498 papers were sent for judgment to the respected jury in this conference. Some of papers were corrected and revised and assessed by the respected members of jury.
Among them, 300 papers were accepted by international arbiters and they were publically notified after the needed coordination with agents of various countries as follows:
138 papers for lecture
40 papers for publishing as posters
122 papers for print
And all papers were also presented and printed as full texts in group of essays.
The paper-owners were scientifically ranked as follows:
21 papers were assessed as rank of full professor;
32 papers were evaluated as rank of associate professor;
98 papers were measured as rank of assistant professor;
And 149 papers were evaluated with ranks of doctoral and master students.
The second international conference on orientalism and Persian studies includes two specialized symposia in the field of orientalism and history and Persian literature under titles of review of works and doctrines of Bidel Dehlavi and analysis on comments and viewpoints of orientalists and Islamic thinkers.
Likewise, this conference was also followed by holding of training workshop of history, civilization, and codicology in India by the salient professor of Allahabad University, Dr. Abdul Qader Jafari for researchers.
Similarly, researchers presented their papers according to the plan in three panels in which these lectures were judged by administrative board to select the superior essays.
After repeated judgment and through cooperation by Allameh Tabatabaei University and Iranian Association of History, the superior essays of this conference will be published in scientific- research quarterlies. Similarly, some of these papers will be also printed in ISI & Scopus Journals with the given coordination.
